Frequently Asked Questions

Can we hire The Imperial Hall as an event venue and bring in our own entertainment and catering?

The venue's purpose from the managements perspective is for staff to showcase their own services and products within the venue, so the venue reserves the right to decline to allow access to subcontractors, as this may create a conflict of interest to the venue. However, we do wish to foster positive relationships, and therefore sub contractors whom we deem of an acceptable standard and that would not reflect badly on our venue may be permitted with express prior consent from the venue management.

What kinds of events do you provide services for?

We're happy to help you throw all kinds of events and celebrations, including, but not limited to:

  • Weddings
  • Birthday parties
  • Christenings
  • Anniversary parties
  • Children's parties
  • Corporate events

Can we just hire The Imperial Hall?

There are certain operating costs associated with simply opening and staffing the venue. On every occasion the venue will have a detailed discussion with every customer regarding their needs and if we are in a position to appropriately serve those requirements.

What hours are you licensed for alcohol service?

As a normal service, we call last orders at midnight and finish event at 00:30.

However we are licensed up to 02:00am to serve drinks, and the events venue must then be exited by 02:30am. So we can agree late finishing to these times at a charge.

What is the capacity of The Imperial Hall?

The venue is licensed to hold 199 people including staff. From experience our maximum seated capacity with our circular banquet tables is 169.

Will I need to arrange door staff?

If door staff are required, the venue will arrange this, which will be incorporated into your event package.

Terms & Conditions for Weddings & event services?

Upon booking any wedding/event package a 25% deposit is required, then a further 25% six months prior to the event with the remaining 50% due no later than three month before the event date. These payments are non-refundable upon receipt.

Please note the above payment terms are to give latitude to the customer for payments, all payments once made are non refundable.

As we take weddings and event bookings far in advance, if cancelling an event within 6 months of the wedding/event date the full balance is still due as it will be highly unlikely we can refill this date. (We strongly recommend you take our wedding insurance to protect you in the instance you need to cancel etc.)

Again if choosing the Pay monthly plan, all payments are non refundable upon payment, but again the same rule apples whereby if you attempt to cancel within 6 months of the wedding/event date, full payment is due. If choosing the pay monthly plan you do become liable for the 25% upon booking even though we are spreading over monthly installments, as too the further 25% 6 months before etc (This is clearly only relevant if looking to cancel etc)

If you request to postpone the wedding to a new date, the wedding price will not be carried over to the new date, a new price will be offered taking current pricing into consideration and whatever you have paid to date will be credited to the new date etc.

When booking a package for a future date - If the you amend this package in relation to food/numbers, the whole package will need to be repriced under the current pricing structure at that time you wish to make the amendment. The reason for this is as a business we are experiencing vast fluctuations in costs/overheads. Our commitment to you is that we will fix the agreed price we offer at the time of booking, so if something costs us much more we will be at an effective loss - but we are willing to take this risk to give customers certainty. However this process works the other way, in that if you are going to want to make future amendments asking for a decrease in numbers it will not align with the current pricing structure and we may already be at a loss. Therefore any amendments to the core package/numbers will trigger the whole package to be repriced under the current pricing structure. We again emphasize that all made in line with above terms are non refundable and if you do not accept new pricing the best option is to retain the original package agreed etc.
